Opportunity Overview Rhythm Pharmaceuticals is looking for a highly motivated candidate for the role of International Tax Director for our expanding international operations in Europe. As the International Tax Director, you will be responsible for the management and reporting of Rhythm Pharmaceuticals tax compliance in the international region, as well as heavily involved with US tax matters. The role will be based in the Netherlands in our Amsterdam office and reports directly to the International Controller with a dotted line to the Corporate Controller in our Boston office. Responsibilities and Duties Manage corporate income tax compliance and reporting for our European entities. Be accountable for VAT, ICP and Intrastat compliance and reporting for our European entities. Develop and optimize compliance in your area of expertise. Partner with the international management team on tax-related matters. Develop and maintain an effective tax framework for our European entities. Design and maintain tax policies for the group. In partnership with the Corporate Controller and International Controller, maintain and improve our transfer price documentation. As necessary, you will be supported by and manage external advisors in the different countries. Source of proposals in broader Finance-related aspects. Qualifications and Skills University degree in tax accounting or tax law. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tax accounting and corporate tax in an international environment. Experience with pharmaceutical/ biotech industry preferred. Proven experience with transfer pricing, CIT reporting, VAT reporting and compliance. Well versed in local Dutch tax accounting and regulations and up to date knowledge on recent tax matters and other European tax regimes. Experience with working with headquarters of a US company is preferred. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and multi-task efficiently. Support international growth projects from a tax perspective. Strong analytical skills and be able to proactively propose process improvements. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with high level of ethics and integrity. Hands-on mentality necessary for succeeding in a dynamic, high-growth environment. This role is based in our International HQ office in Amsterdam, NL. Rhythm operates in a hybrid-work model. Candidates applying must be willing and able to have presence in the office in coordination with their department and business needs. This role may involve some travel. IMCIVREE® is the first and only approved therapy for certain rare MC4R pathway diseases in the United States, Europe, Great Britain and several other countries. We continue to advance care and precision medicines that address rare diseases. We are focused on expanding access to IMCIVREE® to reach more patients and developing novel therapies for other rare neuroendocrine diseases, including congenital hyperinsulinism.
